Apple’s Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive, will depart the company later this year to form an independent design company. He has been working for Apple for two-plus decades, serving as the creative mind behind nearly all of Apple’s iconic hardware.

In 2015, Jony Ive was appointed as Apple’s Chief Design Officer, which is a more hands-off role. He then took on the responsibilities of designing Apple Park and reforming the Apple Store.
