In a recent visit to London, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida warned of an East Asian spillover of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict if Beijing detects Washington’s reluctance to directly intervene.

“Ukraine might be East Asia tomorrow,” Kishida told a press conference, “We must show there are consequences to the attack, to violence by Russia.”
