Sandy wants to earn a high salary, but she is worried about the working environment. She talks to her uncle Sam, a construction worker in Taiwan, to learn more.

Sandy: Hi, Uncle Sam! I’m looking for a new job. I heard construction workers make good money in Taiwan. Can I do this job?

Sam: Maybe. The pay is good, but it’s very hard work. You need to be strong.
山姆:也許可以。待遇不錯,但很辛苦。你需要有體力。

Sandy: I don’t mind hard work. But I read something online. A young worker quit because of bad smells. He said people smoke all day.
珊蒂:我不怕辛苦。但我在網路上看到,有個年輕人因為臭味辭職。他說大家整天都在抽菸。

Sam: Yeah, that can happen. In the past, some workers had bad habits. But things are changing now.
山姆:對,這種情況可能會發生。以前有些工人習慣不好,但現在正在改變。

Sandy: Really? Just no smoking?

Sam: Not only that. Good workers care about their work. They try to do everything well, even small details.

Sandy: So money is not the only thing?
珊蒂:所以錢不是重點?
Sam: Right. We also care about safety and our tools. If you take pride in your work, you can become a great worker.
山姆:對。我們也重視安全和工具。。如果你對自己的工作感到自豪,就能成為優秀的師傅。

Sandy: That sounds interesting. I want to learn more. Can I visit your work site one day?
