Women in Iran will be able to attend football matches starting with a World Cup qualifier in Tehran next month, according to football’s global governing body, FIFA.
國際足總FIFA表示，從下個月世界杯足球賽亞洲區資格賽開始，伊朗婦女將可進場看比賽。
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said he had discussed the issue with Iranian officials in the wake of the “blue girl” incident.

Khodayari is known as the “blue girl” because of the colors of her favorite team, Esteghlal. Fearing she would face six months to two years in prison if convicted, she set herself alight in front of the courthouse and died in hospital earlier this month.

Infantino said the Iranian authorities “assured” FIFA that women will be allowed to attend Iran’s next match against Cambodia on October 10th.
