
14億人口「弱勢就業」
While the global economy has kept up a modest growth rate, the total number of unemployed people will likely remain high in 2018 – at above 192 million – and it will be harder to find a decent job, the International Labor Organization reports in “World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends 2018.”

The ILO report forecasts a worldwide unemployment rate of 5.5 percent this year, which is a marginal improvement on the 5.6 percent recorded last year, thanks to broad economic growth.

But the report warns that the employment growth in emerging and developing economies is expected to fall short of labor force growth, although the labor situation in these countries has improved.

Ryder also expressed concern that vulnerable employment is on the rise.

He says that nearly 1.4 billion people are in vulnerable jobs, meaning that they work in difficult conditions for low wages with little security.
