HTC has partnered up with the American Museum of Natural History to bring the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex back to life with the help of virtual reality, HTC Corp. announced on Friday.

For the Manhattan-based institution’s “T. rex: The Ultimate Predator” exhibit, Vive Studios collaborated with the Museum’s Science Visualization team and the Warsaw-based AR/VR studio Immersion to create a multiplayer interactive VR experience.

The VR application allows three visitors to share a virtual space and work together to build a T. rex skeleton piece by piece.

Aside from the multiplayer VR experience, the museum is also showcasing life-sized reconstructions of the T. rex at various stages of its existence.

These include “the most scientifically accurate representation of the T. rex to date, fossils and casts, large-scale projections and hands-on interactive interfaces that tell the amazing story of the iconic dinosaur,” HTC said in a blog post.
