Nevertheless, Kao expressed caution about the company’s overall performance this year, as shipments continue to be affected by the ongoing US-China trade dispute.

Holtek has around 70% of its revenues from the Chinese market, and 90% of the MCUs for Huawei and Xiaomi Bluetooth wireless headsets are supplied by the Taiwanese company.

Despite the cautious outlook, Kao said the company is optimistic about the growth of the Indian market, with revenues from the Indian market expected to double this year.

Meanwhile, Holtek is gearing up for an anticipated boom in MCU demand for diverse AIoT applications in 2020, developing solutions for applications such as health measurements, robots, interactive toys, financial cards, security and DC brushless motors, said Kao.
