In an interview on May 16th, Han said that “maybe we can adjust our laws to allow the president to double as a premier and answer directly to the legislature.”

However, the remarks seem to contradict his earlier statement that, if elected, he would govern the nation from Kaohsiung and meet with the premier once a week.

Being asked by reporters to comment on Han’s “suggestion”, President Tsai Ing-wen urged Han to focus on governing Kaohsiung since she is currently the president of Taiwan.
當記者詢問總統蔡英文有關韓的「建議」時，她表示，希望韓多專注在高雄的事務，因為目前台灣的總統是蔡英文。
