Since the company started its business in 2015, it has sold 25,000 phones.

Each phone costs is around 500 euros, which includes a deposit of 22 euros that owners get back if they return the device at the end of its life cycle.

“For me it’s the difference between maximizing profit versus maximizing meaning,” says Samuel Waldeck. “We have noticed very often in our lives that it’s really good to strive to maximize meaning rather than profit... But I’m really convinced that those two things have to coincide.”
