The 59-year-old star George Clooney has confirmed that he once gifted US$1 million in cash to each of his 14 closest friends who helped him when he went through hard times. Clooney revealed the story in an interview with GQ magazine.

Rumors about the story traced back to 2017 when Rande Gerber, Clooney’s best pal, told a reporter that Clooney invited his closest friends over for dinner on September 27, 2013, only to offer each of them a suitcase full of cash.
