Foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) countries have issued a joint statement to support Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Assembly (WHA), the decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO).
七大工業國組織（G7）國家的外交部長發表聯合聲明，支持台灣參加世界衛生組織（WHO）的決策機構世界衛生大會（WHA）。

This marks the first time that the seven leading industrial nations have collectively endorsed Taiwan’s inclusion in the WHA, which is scheduled to hold its annual meeting from May 24 to June 1.

“We support Taiwan’s meaningful participation in World Health Organization forums and the World Health Assembly,” the G7 said in a joint communique after foreign ministers attended a meeting in London.
G7各國外交部長在倫敦召開會議，會後發表聯合公報，表示外長支持台灣有意義參與世界衛生組織論壇及世界衛生大會。

“The international community should be able to benefit from the experience of all partners, including Taiwan’s successful contribution to the tackling of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the organization.

Before G7 released the statement, the US State Department had called for Taiwan to be allowed to partake in the forthcoming WHA meeting, citing the nation’s successful efforts against COVID-19 and its aid to other countries during the pandemic.
