FDC International Hotels Corp. implemented a test of a four-day workweek for staff at its Fleur de Chine Hotel near Sun Moon Lake on Sept. 1.

According to CNA News, the hotel operator said its decision was influenced by changes in “work patterns and workplace culture” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FDC Chairman Sheng Chih-jen said in an official company statement that such a change would not only improve the job satisfaction of workers but also boost the efficiency and creativity of the workplace.
