Amid calls for harsher penalties for drunk drivers, 76 DUI offenders were given a lecture at a funeral parlor in New Taipei City on Thursday to teach them about the fragility of life.
近日大眾要求對酒駕者要有更嚴厲的處罰，76名酒駕再犯學員上週四在新北市一座殯儀館參與講習課程，盼藉此讓他們體認生命脆弱。

The purpose of the course was to help the participants, who are all repeat DUI offenders, understand how drunk driving puts both themselves and others in harm’s way.

Government statistics show that each year, there are more than 100,000 cases of driving under the influence (DUI), and 40% of them involve repeat offenders.
