Ker Chien-ming, a Democratic Progressive Party leader in Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan, has apologized for a comment he made about the deadly earthquake in Hualien on April 3.

He previously said that the 7.2 quake had “happened to save Taiwan’s democracy.”

After hearing the comment, Kuomintang lawmaker Fu Kun-chi spoke out against what Ker had said.
聽到這番話後，國民黨立委傅崑萁對柯建銘的言論表示反對。

Fu, who holds a leadership position among KMT lawmakers and is from Hualien, stated that Ker’s comment was neither proper nor acceptable.
