Disney’s researchers have been developing an AI system that automatically generates animation based off of natural language text.

In order to program the AI system effectively, researchers have to feed it as many scene descriptions as possible. They have compiled sentences from 996 screenplays selected from a pool of over 1,000 scripts available.

The Disney team explained that the AI system essentially breaks down complex sentences, simplifying them layer by layer until they can no longer be simplified. Then, it produces 3D animated videos that depict the content and ideas of the processed text.
