Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Nestle are among seven soft-drink manufacturers that have agreed to reduce the sugar content of the beverages they sell in Singapore, as part of the city-state’s latest campaign to fight a growing diabetes epidemic.

The seven companies have signed an industry pledge to remove drinks that contain more than 12 percent sugar from their portfolios of sugar-sweetened beverages by the year 2020.
