Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control recently reported the country’s first locally transmitted case of measles since September 2022.

The infected man — who is in his 30s and from northern Taiwan — was diagnosed with the disease on February 15 before being placed in hospital isolation.

According to CDC Deputy Director General Lo Yi-chun, 199 people “have been identified as close contacts” of the infected man.

Therefore, health authorities have warned anyone who was in the restaurant at that time to be aware of any measles symptoms they may develop before February 29 and immediately notify health authorities if they start to show signs of the illness.
