Comet C/2021 A1 Leonard, or just Comet Leonard for short, is the brightest comet that can be spotted from Earth in 2021.

Discovered by astronomer G. J. Leonard at the Mt. Lemmon Observatory one year ago, Comet Leonard is on an estimated 80,000-year orbit and it is coming closest to Earth on December 12.
天文學家雷納德一年前在萊蒙山天文台發現雷納德彗星，這顆彗星週期約八萬年，12月12日當天將最接近地球。

Throughout the month of December, the comet will be passing through Canes Venatici, Boötes, Serpens and Ophiuchus, making its way to the sun.

According to Taipei Astronomical Museum, Comet Leonard can be observed low on the east horizon at around 5 am before December 12.
