Annie works as a freelancer. She is asking her friend Kurt about how to cash a check that she got from her client.

Kurt: It’s actually pretty simple. Just go to a bank and the bank teller will handle it for you. You may be asked to fill out a deposit slip if necessary. Also, make sure you sign your name in the endorsement area on the back of the check before giving it to the bank teller.

Kurt: Technically, you can. But some banks may refuse to clear checks from a different bank.
寇特：技術上而言是可以的，但有些銀行可能會拒絕兌現不同銀行的支票。

Annie: I see. So it’s better to cash a check at the bank where it is drawn.

Kurt: Yup. By the way, you may be charged a fee if you don’t have an account with the bank where you cash a check.
