Eugene: You can think of a bond as an IOU between a lender and borrower. Bonds are typically issued by companies or governments as they need a significant amount of funds to finance projects or operations.

Eugene: Not really. You can simply purchase bonds through brokerage firms, banks or bond traders. Some corporate bonds are traded on the over-the-counter market.

Eva: How would I make money with bonds?

Eugene: There are two ways. The first is to hold your bonds until their maturity date and collect interest payments on them. The interest is usually paid twice a year.
