Apple Inc has taken the rare step of slashing its estimated revenue for the first quarter, blaming weaker iPhone sales and an economic slowdown in China.

Cook attributed the lowered guidance to several factors, including an economic deceleration in China and lower-than-expected iPhone revenue, which the CEO said occurred “primarily in Greater China.”
