An artificial intelligence lawyer created by DoNotPay had its first court date in the US canceled on account of threats of jail time to the program’s creator and company CEO, Joshua Browder, if his chatbot made a live courtroom appearance.

Along with these criticisms came the threat of six months in jail for Browder for the “unauthorized practice of law.”
