專訪綠盟研究員吳澄澄
The day after the Kwun Tong case was passed and hailed as “the darkest day in the history of environmental assessment,” FUNDAY went to the Green Citizens’ Action Alliance office to interview someone willing to talk.

We found that there was only one person available to speak at the spacious office — researcher Wu Cheng-cheng.

Later we learned that the other members of the alliance had been busy the previous night, dealing with both the Shen’ao coal-fired power plant and the Kwun Tong cases.

The quick passing of the environmental assessment threw cold water on environmental groups, but despite the setback, Wu Cheng-cheng did not show any signs of defeat. Instead, Wu responded resolutely.
火速通過環評的衝擊就像一盆冷水，環團猝不及防地又被潑了一身濕，吳澄澄沒有表現吃了敗仗的失落，反而堅定回應，

In September this year, a dozen environmental groups announced the “2017-18 City and County Government Energy Policy Appraisal.” Taipei ranked fifth among the six municipalities while ranking eighth overall in Taiwan.

Wu says that the cabinet has given local government the rights to come up with its own energy policies since 2015. While Taipei is not without a heart for the environment, it simply does not know what to do.

However, Wu says that the scale is still too small, and the energy policies should be actively spread from public to private sectors across the board.

Wu Cheng-cheng says that Taiwan can emulate Seoul’s example. In 2012, due to electric shortages in Korea’s capital, Seoul, Park Won-soon proposed “One Less Nuclear Power Plant”, calling for energy conservation and the development of green energy resources.
