The coast guard intercepted a fishing boat off the coast of Tainan city last Thursday and, inside a hidden compartment, found 62 cages containing the cats, which included breeds such as American Shorthair, British Shorthair, Persian, Ragdoll, and Russian Blue. The animals were estimated to have a market value of over NT$10 million.
